Principle Investigator
Dr. Jordana Salma is a Registered Nurse and an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta. Her research program focuses on the health and well-being of immigrant and racialized older adults in Canada. She aims to improve policies and services to address health inequities that negatively impact the wellbeing of older adults.

Huda holds a BSc degree in Nutrition and Food Science from University of Alberta and is currently working as a Research Assistant. She has extensive work experience with non-profit organizations such as E4C, IFSSA, ICNA, and CoMAG etc. She has worked with these organizations to promote food security, social justice, food justice, and equity.

Meet Khadija Abdi, our Research Assistant and third-year University of Alberta Elementary Education student. Her role as a research assistant has given her the opportunity to assist and reach out to various communities, notably vulnerable Muslim seniors. Her hobbies include baking, traveling, and spending time in nature.

Esra is one of our Research Assistants who are in the faculty of Education pursuing a degree in Secondary Education. Her research role is focused on aging more specifically working with older adults with a focus on adults’ physical, mental and emotional health. On her free time she like to enjoy nature outdoors and playing sports.

Research Coordinator
Holder of a Master’s degree in English and Cultural Studies. Passionate about working with equity-deserving groups, Ghada is a community navigator and builder as well as a researcher with 7 years experience in nonprofit work, progressive policy-related work in fields of human rights, anti-racism, and equity, diversity, and inclusion. Her hobbies include writing non-fiction, painting and baking.
